Acrostic Jewelry Time!

One day I was browsing antique jewelry on a website, and I came across a REGARD ring.  I had no idea what that meant, so I clicked on it to get a closer look and I found out that it was an acrostic ring - one where the first letter of each stone spelled out the word REGARD -  Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby and Diamond.

As someone who has always enjoyed secret messages and codes, of course I was immediately in love with this idea.

And so I did a bit of research and found out that acrostic jewelry began in the Georgian period and was often used to express love or admiration. Using the first letter of each stone's name, these necklaces convey a secret message or endearment.

Then I bought an embarrassing amount of beads.

I started with LOVE, BADASS, STORYTELLER, and ZERO FUCKS necklaces.  I made myself one - but that one is a secret.  The second round included WITCH, CALM, ADORE, CREATE and BREATHE.  It didn't take long before I had a full collection.

Anyway, it has been a bit since I broke out all the beads, but new acrostic jewelry is coming!

And I made myself a fun new tool to make it easier to work on it.
